Alia, Varun and Sidharth to perform at Justin Bieber's India concert?

Alia Bhatt, Sidharth Malhotra and Varun Dhawan have been approached to be part of the concert.

Justin Bieber is scheduled to perform in India for the first time in May this year and going by the looks of it, the organisers are leaving no stone unturned to make it a grand success.

The sale of tickets have already started on Wednesday and the event also looks likely to be a star-studded affair.

‘Student of the Year’ stars Alia Bhatt, Sidharth Malhotra and Varun Dhawan have been approached to a be part of the concert.

Arjun Jain, director of White Fox India, told mid-day, "We have already received confirmation from some of the biggest celebrities in India for the concert and will try to definitely integrate indigenous elements into the event. We are considering bringing Alia, Sidharth and Varun on stage, like they did in their first film. However, things are in the planning stage now.”

While the three stars made their debuts together and also featured together on their mentor Karan Johar’s chat show ‘Koffee with Karan’ and the Dream Team Tour, they have not been spotted together all that often.

While Alia and Sidharth are reportedly dating, reports of Varun not getting along with the couple have often made the rounds. So it would be interesting to see the trio come together after a long time.

The performances of the three stars could just be one of the star attractions on the show and we could see several other celebrities coming together like we saw recently when Coldplay and other artistes had arrived in Mumbai for the Global Citizen concert.

PSL fixing scandal: Sharjeel claims innocence, says 'truth will come out soon'

Suspended opening batsman Sharjeel Khan on Wednesday said he "did nothing wrong or anything that would malign his country",

"The truth will come out soon," he said in a brief media talk, adding that the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has asked him to refrain from talking to the media.PCB had sent Khan and Khalid Latif back home following their alleged involvement in spot fixing during the ongoing Pakistan Super League (PSL) in United Arab Emirates.According to media reports, Sharjeel and Khalid Latif both deny the match fixing charges but admit to meeting the alleged fixer on the recommendation of a former Pakistani Test player. They are expected to admit to negligence on their part for not informing PCB regarding the man's offer. The suspended players are further expected to hand in their written replies to PCB's charge-sheet within the next week, DawnNews reported.According to PCB officials privy to the matter, even if any fixing charges are not proven against the suspended players, they are expected to receive a ban minimum ban of one year for the breach of PCB's Anti-Corruption Code.PCB handed over charge-sheets to Sharjeel Khan and Khalid Latif for their alleged involvement in spot-fixing during the PSL, on February 18.The charge-sheets were handed over to both the players after recording their statements separately and they are expected to submit their written replies within two weeks of the date.If both players confess to all the charges levelled against them then the PCB will form a disciplinary committee to decide about the punishment, board officials said. But if the players deny these charges then a trial court would be set up by the PCB’s Anti-Corruption unit under chair of a former Judge and with representation of one former player to investigate the matter, PCB chairman Shaharyar Khan had said.Shaharyar had said Sharjeel and Khalid will be given one to two weeks to submit their replies against the charge-sheets, after which the board will level formal charges.PSL authorities in their initial statements on the scandal had claimed that while the investigation against three other cricketers — Mohammad Irfan, Zulfiqar Babar and Shahzaib Hasan — was ongoing, Sharjeel and Khalid were sidelined from the PSL after they had confessed to wrongdoing. Both were suspended provisionally by the PCB’s anti-corruption unit, and immediately sent back home.

How fabric made from the same material as Coca-Cola bottles can fix your snapped shoulder

How fabric made from the same material as Coca-Cola bottles can fix your snapped shoulder

  • Plastic from Coca-Cola bottles is being used to fix disconnected shoulder joints
  • Several current and former Six Nations stars have had the 'Coke-bottle fix'
  • This includes Welsh flanker Sam Warburton, who has the most caps as captain

Fabric made from the same material as plastic Coca-Cola bottles is being used to fix disconnected shoulder joints.

The injury occurs when the ligament holding together the collarbone and the shoulder blade snaps and the two become permanently detached, causing severe and often chronic shoulder pain.

The injury is regularly seen in rugby players – with several current and former Six Nations stars having had the 'Coke-bottle fix' – including Welsh flanker Sam Warburton, who holds the record for the most Wales caps as captain.

Others are Welsh team-mates Alun Wyn Jones and Leigh Halfpenny.

One in ten of all shoulder injuries are acromioclavicular joint – or ACJ – tears, and they can be caused by any big impact fall, such as coming off a bicycle or a rugby tackle

While ACJ dislocation used to be most common in professional sports people, surgeons are now seeing many more of these injuries as more of us take up outdoor sports.

Traditional surgical treatments included repairing the ligaments, or moving ligaments from another part of the body to replace them.

The procedure now preferred by surgeons involves using a braided suture made from polyethylene terephthalate (PET), the same recyclable material used to make plastic bottles.

Richard Evans, consultant orthopaedic surgeon at Spire Cardiff Hospital, was an early convert to the procedure, called Lockdown, and has used it to repair ACJs in several rugby players.

Warburton, 28, tore his ACJ in 2008. He had a Lockdown operation, carried out by Mr Evans, and was back in training three months later, and playing first-team rugby after just 18 weeks.
